The Role

Vertech Group is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to provide practical HSEQ advice and support across five diverse businesses. Reporting to the Group HSEQ Manager, the role will partner with leaders and workers to support safe, compliant and high-performing operations.

The position has a broad operational focus, including incident investigation, risk assessment, critical control verification, workplace inspections, auditing, training and competency, injury management, contractor compliance and continual improvement of the Integrated HSEQ Management System. The role will also monitor HSEQ performance and emerging risks, support project and tender requirements, and contribute to occupational health, psychosocial safety and worker wellbeing initiatives.

This opportunity will suit a proactive and capable HSEQ professional who can build effective relationships, work autonomously across multiple priorities and translate legislative, client and management system requirements into practical operational outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide practical HSEQ advice and support across all Vertech Group businesses
- Partner with leaders and workers to promote secure, compliant and high-performing operations
- Ensure hazards, incidents, injuries and near misses are reported,



investigated and effectively managed
- Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes and monitor corrective actions through to completion
- Facilitate risk assessments and support the implementation and verification of critical controls
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and assurance activities against company, client and legislative requirements
- Support injury management, workers compensation and return-to-work processes
- Support the development and continual improvement of the Integrated HSEQ Management System
- Monitor HSEQ performance, trends and emerging risks and prepare transparent, accurate reports
- Support workforce onboarding, training, competency and contractor compliance programs
- Deliver HSEQ inductions, toolbox talks, training and awareness activities
- Contribute to occupational health monitoring, psychosocial risk management and worker wellbeing initiatives
- Provide HSEQ input into tenders, projects and client requirements
- Identify and support practical continuous improvement opportunities across the Group

Required Qualifications

- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety – required minimum qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety – preferred
- ICAM or TAPROOT Investigator – highly regarded, but not essential

Skills and Experience

- At least four years’ experience in an HSEQ Advisor or similar role, preferably within energy, resources, or industrial services
- Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified management systems




- Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, auditing and risk assessment
- Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and HSEQ compliance requirements
- Experience supporting training, competency and contractor compliance programs
- Strong written communication, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to establish effective relationships with operational teams, leaders and clients
- Ability to work autonomously across multiple businesses and competing priorities
- ICAM or TapRooT investigation training is highly regarded
- Experience in wind, drone, rope access or specialist industrial services is advantageous
