Lead a switchboard manufacturing division that is already building the work — and build it into something bigger.

Dickie Industries is a licensed electrical contracting and engineering business based in Griffith, servicing industrial, commercial and domestic clients across the Riverina and beyond. What sets us apart is our in‑house engineering department — schematics, 3D switchboard and panel design, MCC design, PLC programming and SCADA/HMI development all happen under our own roof, before anything hits the workshop floor.

We are currently designing and building Cubic indoor and outdoor boards, Elsteel indoor and outdoor boards, motor control panels and CT metered panels. There is more of it coming than we can keep running informally, so we are establishing a dedicated switchboard manufacturing division — and we are looking for the person to lead it.

This is a senior, hands‑on role with genuine authority. You will put the manufacturing systems and processes in place, build the team, and run projects from design through to testing, certification and connection authorisation.

What you will do

- Establish the division: workshop layout, processes, QA systems and manufacturing documentation
- Recruit and lead switchboard builders, electricians, apprentices and design staff
- Plan production schedules, allocate labour and track project progress
- Review switchboard designs, schematics, layouts and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, Essential Energy requirements and customer specifications




- Select components and manage supplier quotations, procurement and stock
- Control project costs, material budgets and manufacturing timeframes
- Oversee routine verification, inspection and testing, and keep test records complete and traceable
- Liaise with customers, consultants, contractors, engineers and supply authorities, including connection authorisation applications
- Keep the workshop safe, organised and improving

What you will bring

- Solid experience in switchboard manufacturing, at supervisor level or above
- Electrical trade or electrical engineering background
- Working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439
- Experience with main switchboards, distribution boards, MCCs and industrial control panels
- Experience with routine verification, testing and compliance documentation
- Strong leadership, planning and communication skills
- Also handy: experience with Cubic or Elsteel systems, CT metering and supply‑authority connections, component estimating and purchasing, industrial automation, PLCs and VSDs, AutoCAD Electrical or similar.
