Quality Control (QC) Officer - Food Manufacturing

$68,000 - $70,000 + Super | Full-time | Permanent | Near Clayton | 6:00am start

Our client is a growing Australian manufacturer of food products in the health and wellness industry. The quality team works directly with production, NPD and warehouse to make sure products are safe, compliant and to specification.

We are recruiting a hands-on QC Officer. This is a factory-based role. The position holds the authority to place product on hold, quarantine it, or stop production where food safety or quality requirements are not met.

Responsibilities

- Inspect incoming raw materials, verify COAs and specifications, and release in the ERP system
- Complete in-process and finished product quality checks on the factory floor
- Prepare samples and submission forms for external laboratory testing
- Conduct internal audits - GMP, glass, hard plastic and other procedures as required
- Complete internal instrument calibration
- Monitor GMP and hygiene compliance during production
- Communicate with operators and supervisors to resolve quality issues
- Identify and document non-conformances, support investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Place product on hold,



quarantine or stop production in line with procedures
- Prepare and review batch records, check sheets and QC documentation
- Manage daily QC tasks and priorities independently

Essential requirements

- 2–3 years minimum in a hands-on QC role in food, ingredients, supplements or FMCG manufacturing
- Robust understanding of GMP and HACCP principles
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Confident communication with production teams
- Availability for a 6:00am start, with flexibility in working hours
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency

Desirable

- Qualifications in Food Science, Science or a related discipline
- Experience with dry goods, powders or ingredient manufacturing
- Exposure to SQF, BRC, Organic or similar systems
