We are seeking a Baker Assistant to join the talented team at Calamvale bakery. This is a casual position based in Calamvale QLD 4116. As a Baker Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our bakers and pastry chefs in the production of high-quality baked goods and pastries. You will work in a fast-paced bakery environment, assisting with preparation, mixing, shaping, and baking activities to ensure our customers receive fresh, delicious products every day. This role is perfect for someone who is keen to develop their baking skills and contribute to a energetic team.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the shaping, moulding and forming of baked products such as bread and pastries
- Monitoring oven, proofer and ensuring baked goods are cooked to the correct temperature and appearance
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the bakery, including regular cleaning of work surfaces, equipment and tools
- Helping to stock shelves and prepare display areas for finished
- Following food safety and health regulations to ensure a safe working environment
What we're looking for
- Previous baking experience at least 2 years
- Robust attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
- Excellent hygiene and food safety awareness
- Reliable and punctual
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to take direction from senior bakers
- A willingness to maintain a clean and organised workspace
What we offer
- Casual, 3 nights a week from Friday night to Sunday night.
- Starting from 9pm - 4pm. If you can work fast, you can finish early and still get pay 7 hours/night.
