We're looking for a highly skilled Strategic Grants and Partnerships Manager to identify, coordinate and develop high-quality grant and tender submissions that support better health outcomes across the Hunter, New England and Central Coast regions. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives on turning complex funding opportunities into compelling submissions. You'll bring demonstrated experience securing local government and government funding, exceptional written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate and influence stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Working across our organisation, you'll lead the development of strategic grant and tender opportunities, coordinate subject matter experts and stakeholders, and support projects from concept through to submission and implementation.

This role is all about finding the right person. We are open to a flexible working arrangement of 0.8 FTE for an exceptional candidate.

About the Role

As Strategic Grants and Partnerships Manager, you will:

- Identify, assess and coordinate strategic grant and tender opportunities aligned with PHN priorities.
- Develop compelling and competitive grant applications, funding submissions and tender responses.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to gather evidence, develop content and meet submission deadlines.
- Lead project planning and coordination activities associated with funding opportunities and approved projects.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with government, local government and other strategic stakeholders.
- Prepare reports, executive briefs and recommendations relating to funding opportunities and project outcomes.
- Support organisational objectives by securing opportunities that improve health outcomes for local communities.

What you'll bring

Essential

- Demonstrated experience successfully developing and writing high-quality grant, funding and tender submissions, particularly within local government, state government, Commonwealth government or not-for-profit environments.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to write persuasive and evidence-based submissions, business cases and reports.
- Demonstrated project management and coordination skills, including managing competing priorities, deadlines and stakeholder contributions.




- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and achieve outcomes through collaboration.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess opportunities, interpret funding guidelines and align proposals with strategic priorities.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in grants, project management, business, public policy, communications or a related discipline.

Desirable

- Experience working within the primary health care, health, community, government or not-for-profit sectors.
- Experience managing complex tender processes.
- An understanding of commissioning, health system reform or government-funded programs.

Additional Information

- PHN's have been funded by the Department of Health, Disability and Aging since 2015. Some roles at our PHN are maximum-term and linked to our funding contracts with the Department of Health, Disability and Aging. This is a maximum term contract until 1 October 2027 and any contract extensions are dependent on ongoing funding.
- Salary: This role is classified as O-T within our Enterprise Agreement and the rate will be dependent on skills and experience/qualifications. New appointments are generally offered between grade O-Q.
- Portable leave and portable long service leave schemes do not apply to the PHN, for example NSW Health Portable Leave and the Community Services Industry (CSI) scheme.
