The Role

This is a full-time position based in Sumner, QLD 4074 working with Centenary Memorial Gardens. As a team member you will play a crucial role in maintaining our rolling hills and manicured gardens. You will contribute to the daily cemetery operations, improvement of our grounds, by working together witha small team, ensuring a high standard of care and presentation for our community.

About the role:

- Performing general grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, pruning, and weeding
- Experience in working in a physical outdoor environment
- Assisting with the preparation of burial sites,



including digging graves and positioning headstones
- Providing excellent customer service to families and visitors
- Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the cemetery's buildings, roads, and pathways
- Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental protocols
- Collaborating with the wider team to ensure the smooth running of cemetery operations

What we are looking for:

- Previous experience in a similar grounds maintenance role or cemetery role;
- Understanding of secure work procedures;
- Have a broad range of practical maintenance skills;
- A willingness to work co-operatively as part of a team which takes pride in its workmanship;
- Have a Manual Drivers’ Licence.
