We are looking for an energetic and personable Finance Officer to join our Sydney team.

We are a team-oriented, award-winning Architecture and Interior Design practice located in the historic Jones Bay Wharf building, overlooking Sydney Harbour. This is a hands‑on role with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the practice’s finance function.

The Role

This is a diverse role within a creative studio environment, working closely with the Directors and wider team. The successful candidate will take ownership of the practice’s financial operations, with responsibilities including:

- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Project billing, invoicing and debt collection
- Payroll management
- Bank reconciliations
- Month-end processes and financial reporting
- BAS and tax compliance
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
- Project financial tracking and cost rates
- Financial recordkeeping and controls
- Ad-hoc financial and administrative support

Skills & Experience





- 5+ years’ experience in finance, accounting or a similar role
- Experience managing payroll, preferably using Xero
- Experience with BAS, month-end processes and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Initiative and a proactive, can-do approach
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Personable and confident working with a range of stakeholders
- On site role no remote work
