Overview

We are currently recruiting a Customer Director for a global leader in rail transportation. This senior commercial role is responsible for developing strategic customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering solutions across rolling stock, maintenance, leasing, and aftermarket parts. You will act as a trusted advisor to rail operators, leading commercial engagement, supporting tenders and negotiations, and driving sustainable business growth. Whilst prior locomotive / rail experience is desired, experience in a KAM / BDM / Sales position in another heavy industry would be considered.

Location - Perth, WA

Duration - Permanent, Full-Time

Salary - $260,000 - $300,000 total package incl. super/bonus

Responsibilities

- Strengthen relationships with existing rail customers in Western Australia, and engage in pursuit of recent clients.
- Identify and pursue opportunities across rolling stock, maintenance, upgrades, leasing, and aftermarket services.
- Lead bids, tenders, commercial negotiations,



and customer engagements.
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting.
- Work collaboratively across technical, operational, and commercial teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Required Experience

- Extensive experience in account management, customer management, business development within the rail industry, mining or heavy industry.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholder groups including executive/board, engineering, workshop managers / technicians.

Desirable

- Possess market intelligence and understanding of mining, passenger, and freight operations, locomotive / rolling stock and an interest in emerging technology.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience.
