Home Migration Services We are seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator specialising in aluminium window and door systems to join our team. The Metal Fabricator will manufacture, assemble, modify and install aluminium window, door and glazing systems. The position requires robust fabrication skills, accurate interpretation of technical drawings and the ability to complete workshop and site-based work safely and efficiently. Benefits Benefits

Task & responsibilities Key responsibilities

- Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and job instructions.
- Measure and mark aluminium sections to determine cutting, shaping and assembly requirements.
- Cut, drill, notch, mill, shape and form aluminium components using hand tools and fabrication machinery.
- Fabricate aluminium frames for windows, doors, shopfronts, partitions and related structures.
- Assemble aluminium components using welding, riveting, bolting, screwing, crimping and other joining methods.
- Check fabricated components for correct dimensions, alignment,



tolerances and conformity with specifications.
- Fit hinges, locks, handles, rollers, seals and other window and door hardware.
- Grind, clean and finish fabricated components in preparation for installation.
- Transport fabricated products and materials safely to project sites.
- Install and secure aluminium windows, doors, frames and associated systems.
- Adjust installed components to ensure correct alignment, operation and structural integrity.
- Apply sealants, gaskets, flashing and weatherproofing materials.
- Fit glass and glazing components where required and within the employee’s competence.
- Identify fabrication or installation faults and complete necessary modifications and repairs.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with drawings, quality requirements and applicable standards.
- Maintain fabrication tools, machinery and equipment in safe working condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures in the workshop and at project sites.
- Coordinate with supervisors, builders, contractors and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used and identified defects.

Qualification & experience The successful applicant should possess:

- a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or an equivalent relevant trade qualification;
- relevant experience fabricating aluminium windows, doors, frames or similar metal products;
- demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications;
- experience operating aluminium cutting, drilling, milling and fabrication equipment;
- knowledge of aluminium joining, assembly and finishing techniques;
- experience installing fabricated aluminium products on residential or commercial sites;
- knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements;
- the ability to work accurately with measurements and tolerances; and
- a current driver's licence.

At least three years of relevant employment experience may be accepted instead of a formal qualification. Our work includes aluminium windows, doors, shopfronts, partitions and other customised glazing systems.
