About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to establish and lead the next phase of critical care physiotherapy at Eastern Health, influencing clinical practice across our services and building the capability of physiotherapists to deliver exceptional care to critically unwell and high-acuity patients.

As the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist (Critical Care), you will provide expert clinical leadership and advice, support decision-making in complex cases, and work alongside physiotherapy and multidisciplinary teams to strengthen evidence-based practice. You will drive research, education and supervision, and lead initiatives that improve outcomes for critical care patients.

This newly established Grade 4 role will enable you to shape the future direction of critical care physiotherapy and make a lasting contribution to workforce capability and patient care at Eastern Health.

About you

You are a recognised leader in critical care physiotherapy with the expertise, credibility and influence to shape practice across a large and complex health service. Combining advanced clinical knowledge with strategic thinking, you provide expert advice on complex clinical and service-delivery matters, drive evidence-based improvements and lead meaningful change. You are passionate about developing others, using coaching,



education and mentorship to build capability, foster excellence and support high-quality patient care. A collaborative and influential communicator, you build strong relationships across disciplines and inspire teams around a shared vision.

You will bring:

- Recognised expertise and significant experience in critical care physiotherapy
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching and change management capability
- Experience improving patient and service outcomes through research, quality improvement, education and evidence translation
- The ability to provide expert advice and influence clinicians, multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders
- A strategic and innovative approach to complex clinical, workforce and service challenges
- Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications, with research publications or conference presentations in an appropriate area of practice

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in theAustralian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
