We are looking for an experienced and reliable Excavator Operator to join our team working on civil construction projects across Canberra and surrounding areas.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, looks after their machine and enjoys working as part of a good team.
About the role
As an Excavator Operator, you will be operating excavators across a range of civil construction projects. Your day-to-day work may include:
- Operating excavators from 5 tonne through to larger machines
- Bulk earthworks, trenching and detailed excavation
- Stormwater, drainage and sewer works
- Roadworks and site preparation
- Loading trucks and moving materials
- Backfilling, levelling and final trimming
- Working around services and other machinery
- Carrying out daily machine checks and keeping the machine clean and well maintained
- Following site safety requirements and working safely around other workers and equipment
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience operating excavators in civil construction
- Can operate machinery confidently and safely
- Has good attention to detail
- Takes pride in their work and looks after equipment
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to get in and help the team when needed
- Can follow instructions and work well with supervisors and other operators
- Has a good attitude and is easy to work with
- Holds a White Card
- Has the appropriate excavator tickets/licences for the machinery being operated
