About the role

The Student/Graduate Engineer (Road Access) plays an important role in supporting the management of works within the public domain and protecting Council's road, footpath, cycling and stormwater infrastructure. Working within the Traffic and Transport Planning team, this position contributes to the assessment of permits, engineering designs and traffic management proposals, while supporting compliance with Council standards, policies and legislative requirements.

This role offers broad exposure to infrastructure management, asset protection and development-related works, providing opportunities to develop technical knowledge and practical engineering experience. Working collaboratively with Council teams, contractors, developers and the community, the position helps deliver safe,



efficient and well-managed outcomes across the Inner West's public infrastructure network.

Remuneration

Student: $60,834.80 + 12% Superannuation

Graduate: $89,733.28 - $101,515.44 + 12% Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

- Undertaking a Degree (Bachelor or Post-Graduate) in civil engineering, project management, construction management or other appropriate discipline recognised by relevant Australian professional institute.
- A strong customer service ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to think strategically with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs (spreadsheet, database, graphics, word processing).
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s License.
