The Opportunity

The role will offer exposure to the above areas of law and the opportunity to work with a tight-knit team that provides excellent mentoring and support with the goal of empowering lawyers to take carriage of matters, under supervision, across a wide range of legal fields.

n

A successful candidate will have the following:

n

n
- Completeddegree in law and admitted to practice in the Supreme Courtof Victoria;
n
- Have approximately 2 to 3 years of PQE;
n
- Experience in litigation, commercial law, property, wills and estates and/or conveyancing;
n
- Ability to take carriage of files and work autonomously - under supervision of Partners;
n
- The ability to develop and mentor graduate lawyers;
n
- Fluency in Vietnamese is highly desirable;
n




- A high level of self-initiative and strong attention to detail;
n
- Confident and skilled communication skills;
n
- A positive, friendly, pro-active and can-do attitude to get the job done
n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Carriage of multiple files under the supervision of Partners;
n
- Interviewing clients, issuing proceedings, negotiating settlements, and preparing for hearings;
n
- Briefing and instructing Counsel in various jurisdictions ;
n
- Drafting commercial agreements, Letters of Demand and Court documents;
n
- Appearing at direction hearings and mediations;
n
- Care and conduct of conveyancing files; and
n
- Researching relevant areas of policy, legislation, and case law.
