About the Opportunity

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is partnering with a mining operation near Blackwater, QLD to source an experienced Senior HR Advisor. This is a site-based role acting as 2IC to the HR Manager, ideal for someone who thrives on complex ER/IR work and wants to build the capability of a site HR function.

This is a fixed term contract role, running until the end of December 2027, on a site-based 5/2 roster with one RDO per month. Candidates can be local to Blackwater or DIDO from the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Partner closely with leaders to provide practical, solutions-focused HR advice
n
- Act as 2IC to the HR Manager, supporting day-to-day leadership and site priorities
n
- Lead and manage complex employee relations and industrial relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes, disputes, and escalations
n
- Coach leaders through challenging people scenarios with confidence and clarity
n
- Support the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding
n
- Drive engagement, culture, and continuous improvement initiatives
n




- Use data and insights to inform workforce decisions and identify trends
n
- Ensure consistent, compliant application of policies and site processes
n
- Coach and develop the HR Officer, building capability and strengthening the site HR function
n
- Drive improvements in HR systems, processes, and ways of working
n

About You

n

n
- Previous site-based HR Advisor experience is essential (non-negotiable)
n
- Robust ER/IR experience, with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive cases end to end
n
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and industrial frameworks
n
- Ability to build credibility quickly and influence at all levels of the business
n
- Calm under pressure and comfortable with ambiguity and competing priorities
n
- Takes ownership, shows initiative, and follows through on outcomes
n
- Practical, approachable, and outcome-focused
n
