About our client

Our client is a nationally registered employer association located in the beautiful inner south-eastern suburbs. An opportunity now exists for a motivated Employment / IR Lawyer to join their small in-house legal team and provide crucial business support services to its members.
n
About this role
n
Working alongside other employment lawyers, including the Head of Legal, you will provide quality legal advisory and advocacy services across all aspects of employment law.
n
n
- Advice to members(telephone and email) on wide range of employment law matters such as termination of employment, EEO, discrimination, WHS and award interpretation
n
- Research and prepare draft submissions to Parliament and Regulators on a range of Federal and State Government issues
n
- Contribute to Industrial Relations projects and initiatives
n
- Participate in conciliation and/or mediation conferences
n
- Manage litigated matters (e.g. before Fair Work Commission)
n
- Write articles on relevant subject matter
n
- Attend industry events
n
n
About you
n
The ideal candidate will have:-
n
n
- 3+ years post admission experiencein employment law at a law firm, an industry association or other in-house role
n
- Experience in Employment/IR Law
n
- Interest in high level legislative matters
n
- Excellent negotiation / influencing / drafting skills
n
- Good communication and presentation skills
n
- Ability to embrace opportunities for change and facilitate recent ways of working
n
