Salesian College Chadstone is seeking an innovative and committed educator to join our community as Technologies Learning Leader.

n

This important leadership position provides strategic direction for teaching and learning across the Technologies learning area, including Design Technology, Food Technology and Digital Technology. The role is responsible for leading rigorous, engaging and relevant curriculum and pedagogy, while supporting staff to continually develop their teaching practice.

The Technologies Learning Leader will lead the development, review and implementation of curriculum across the learning area, ensuring alignment with externally mandated curriculum requirements, including the Victorian Curriculum and VCE Study Designs. The role will have a strong focus on improving student learning outcomes and engagement through contemporary teaching practice, effective assessment and the use of student learning data.

Working collaboratively with teaching staff, technical and food technology assistants and the College Learning Team, the Technologies Learning Leader will build staff capacity, promote innovation and continuous improvement, and ensure students are provided with meaningful and engaging learning experiences.

The successful applicant will be an educator who can provide robust and collaborative leadership, foster a culture of professional trust and learning, and contribute positively to the Catholic and Salesian identity of the College.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Providing leadership in Technologies curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.

n

Leading curriculum development and review across the Technologies learning area.

n

Supporting and building the learning and teaching capacity of staff.

n

Using data to support improved student learning outcomes and engagement.

n

Establishing learning area goals aligned with the College Annual Action Plan.

n

Promoting innovation, continuous improvement and contemporary teaching practice.

n

Leading and supporting Design Technology, Food Technology and Digital Technology staff.

n

Managing learning area resources and budgets to support student learning.

n

Promoting the Technologies learning area across College events, subject selection and community engagement opportunities.

n

Ensuring appropriate work safety practices are maintained across the learning area.

n
