About Camp Somerset

Camp Somerset is an Outdoor Education and Recreation Centre located on approximately 1,000 acres of bushland and rainforest on Somerset Dam. Owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we deliver outdoor education, adventure recreation, school camps, church events and community programs throughout the year.

About the Role

We are seeking an experiencedProgram Coordinator - Outdoor Programsto join our Outdoor Programs team.

Working alongside the Senior Program Coordinator, you will help lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Camp Somerset's outdoor education and recreation programs. The role combinesprogram delivery, staff leadership, client engagement, administration and program development.

You will also assume responsibility for the Outdoor Programs Department during periods of Senior Program Coordinator leave and assist with wider Camp operations when required.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate daily activity schedules and instructor allocations
- Deliver and lead centre-based and expedition programs
- Supervise, mentor and support Outdoor Instructors and casual staff
- Develop and improve outdoor education programs
- Liaise with schools, churches and community groups
- Assist with program planning, quotations and client recommendations
- Manage activity equipment, resources and maintenance systems
- Maintain program documentation, risk assessments and SOPs
- Assist with staff induction,



development and competency
- Support safety, compliance and emergency response planning
- Assist with Camp Coordination and weekend duties as required

Skills & Experience

- Minimum 6 years' demonstrated outdoor education experience across centre-based and expedition programs
- Experience leading outdoor recreation activities
- Experience working with school groups
- Strong organisational, communication and administration skills
- Units of Competency in High Ropes, Bush Walking, Flat Water Canoeing.
- Current Blue Card, First Aid, CPR and Driver Licence
- Wilderness First Aid
- Units of Competency in Mountain Biking, Abseiling, Archery
- Experience with equipment management, budgets and quotations
