Job Description

GemLife is looking for an experienced Painter / Decorator to join our construction team, with opportunities available at our Kilcoy project.

This is a hands-on role working across our residential construction project, completing internal and external painting and decorating works to a high standard. You'll work closely with Site Managers, Supervisors and other trades to deliver quality finishes safely and efficiently.

A day in the life...

n

You'll prepare internal and external surfaces, complete patching and repairs, mix and match paints and apply a range of coatings and finishes using brush, roller and spray applications. You'll also identify and rectify finish issues, maintain clean work areas and ensure works are completed within construction timeframes.

Job Duties

n

- Carry out internal and external painting and decorating work across residential construction projects.
n
- Prepare, clean, patch and repair surfaces prior to painting activities.
n
- Apply paints, coatings, stains and finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
n
- Mix, select and match colours to achieve the required finish and project specifications.
n
- Read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications to support project requirements.
n
- Inspect completed work and identify and rectify defects or finish issues.
n
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
n




- Manage workload effectively to meet construction schedules and project deadlines.
n
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements, policies and procedures at all times.
n
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople and other team members to deliver quality outcomes.

What you'll bring

n

Required Skills

n

n
- At least AQF Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent qualification.
n
- Demonstrated experience in internal and external painting and decorating.
n
- Strong surface preparation, patching and repair skills.
n
- Experience using brush, roller and spray application techniques.
n
- Knowledge of paints, coatings, finishes and colour matching.
n
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
n
- Robust attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
n
- Good time management and problem-solving skills.
n
- A reliable, safety-focused and collaborative approach.
n
- White Card.
