Pharmacy Front of Shop/Transitioning to Dispense Technician Position

Leura Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Front of Shop/Transitioning to Dispense Technician to join our team in Leura, NSW. This is a part time position offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within the pharmacy sector. You will initially focus on front-of-shop duties whilst transitioning into dispensing technician responsibilities, providing you with valuable exposure to all aspects of community pharmacy operations. This role is crucial in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and support whilst maintaining the highest standards of pharmacy practice.

Key responsibilities

- Provide friendly and professional customer service at the pharmacy front counter, assisting customers with over-the-counter products and general pharmacy enquiries.
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using pharmacy management systems.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and assist with inventory management and ordering.
- Ensure the front shop area is well-organised, clean and compliant with pharmacy standards.
- Support the pharmacy team in receiving and processing deliveries.
- Gradually transition into dispensing technician duties under supervision.
- Assist in preparing and labelling medications under the guidance of registered pharmacy staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all relevant pharmacy legislation and regulations.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support colleagues as needed.

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.




- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions and stock management.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from senior pharmacy staff.
- Basic numeracy skills and competency with point-of-sale systems or willingness to learn.
- A genuine interest in pharmacy and healthcare, with motivation to develop into a dispensing technician role.
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to work.
- Formal qualifications or prior pharmacy experience would be advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
- 4 day roster will include 1 day weekend work with flexibility to assist with additional hours if required.
