We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant role with a growing property development firm in north-west Sydney. This is a contract role for three days per week, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team in the future.

The scope of the role is broad and requires involvement across day-to-day accounting, month-end, reporting, payroll, reconciliations, and tax compliance for the operating business and the projects. As part of a small team, you will work closely with the Founder and development team, providing accurate and timely financial information while supporting the ongoing improvement of finance processes and systems.

Key responsibilities

- Managing day-to-day accounting functions
n
- Preparing month-end reconciliations, reporting and financial information
n
- Preparing and posting General Ledger journals
n
- Managing banking and monthly bank reconciliations
n




- Preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packs for Projects
n
- Processing payroll and reconciling payroll journals
n
- Assisting with Accounts Payable and payment processes
n
- Assisting with sales commission calculations
n
- Supporting tax and audit requirements
n
- Supporting statutory financial statements and audit schedules
n

About you

n

n
- 4+ years' experience in an all-round Financial Accounting role
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting - essential
n
- Strong experience using Xero
n
- Solid understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting
n
- Experience with GST and Australian tax compliance
n
- Valuable understanding of intercompany accounting and financial processes
n
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
n
- Strong organisational and time management skills
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
n
