Assistant Manager | Group Bookings & Guest Relations Focus

We are a premium Australian steakhouse with a strong focus on provenance, genuine hospitality and memorable guest experiences.

Following an extensive renovation, our iconic waterfront steakhouse has reopened, bringing together 22 years of heritage with a fresh, more elevated approach to food, service and atmosphere.

As we continue this next chapter, we are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team.

The Role

Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role on the floor, helping drive service standards, develop the team and deliver the level of hospitality our guests expect. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor and leading from the front.

You will set the tone for confident, energetic and professional service, with a strong focus on attention to detail, guest recognition and creating genuine connections with our guests.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, focused and confident in how they run a service - someone who can bring energy to the floor, support the team and maintain high standards in a busy restaurant environment.

A key part of this role is relationships. In addition to daily operational responsibilities, you will take ownership of group bookings, events and guest enquiries, while helping us build stronger relationships with our regulars and turn first-time guests into returning ones.

You will:





- Respond to guest requests and general enquiries with professionalism and warmth.
- Own group bookings and event enquiries end to end
- Build genuine relationships with regular guests and VIPs, keeping them informed of relevant promotions, events and special occasions.
- Ensure our guest recognition strategies are applied consistently across the restaurant.
- Maintain and manage the reservations database, ensuring guest information and preferences are accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with the management and front-of-house teams to ensure group bookings, special occasions and VIP visits are communicated and executed seamlessly.

What we're looking for:

- 5+ years in a hospitality leadership role.
- Strong operational understanding across food, wine, and service.
- Natural leadership presence - calm, confident, decisive and dynamic.
- Steakhouse or premium dining experience is a plus.

You'll be joining an established hospitality group and a skilled team that takes pride in what we do.

You'll be working in a newly renovated space, and within a premium waterfront venue with clear ambition.
