Firbank Grammar School is seeking a proficient and approachable Instrumental Music Tutor (Flute) to support and inspire the development of flute students across our three School Campuses. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a positive learning workplace. Hours of work:

This is a casual position currently managed across two days.

As the work includes our Junior Instrumental Program. Candidates must be available on Tuesday.

Other duties include working with the flute ensemble and the delivery of individual lessons. There is some flexibility around scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

- Communication: Foster positive relationships with staff, students, and the school community. Handle all correspondence professionally and confidentially, direct enquiries appropriately, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work within a dynamic Music Department with an acknowledged reputation for instilling the skills and abilities to play confidently at all skill levels.
- Develop the inclusion of the flute in all aspects of our music programs through teaching excellence.

Skills and Attributes:

- Experience teaching flute to students across primary and secondary year levels.

Strong organisational, time management and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Extremely high standard of personal ethics and good character.

Ability to work independently, as well as working collaboratively in a team.

High standard of personal presentation.

Ability to develop, build and nurture relationships.

Friendly and approachable demeanor, with a commitment to providing excellent support to students and families. Be accessible and approachable for both staff and students.

Qualifications:





- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in teaching the flute.
- Current WWCC (employee).
- First Aid and CPR Certificates.
