Join our Hospital in the Home team based at Newcastle Community Health Centre, where you'll provide hospital-level care to patients in their own homes.

This temporary opportunity offers the chance to build valuable experience in a highly specialised area of nursing, with the possibility of extension.

Enjoy the Autonomy to Work Your Own Way

This isn't a role where every hour is scheduled for you. You'll be allocated a daily patient workload, then have the flexibility and professional autonomy to plan the most effective route, prioritise your visits, and structure your day.

A day in the life:

Deliver high-acuity hospital care in patients' homes

Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and clinical observations

Administer medications, provide wound care and collect pathology

Support chronic disease management and patient education

Liaise closely with HITH medical officers, GPs and the multidisciplinary team

Bring Your Clinical Confidence to the Community

We're seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who is confident working independently and passionate about advocating for patients.

Whether you're seeking full-time stability or part-time flexibility, this temporary opportunity can be tailored to suit your lifestyle. It's an excellent chance to build experience in the specialised field of Hospital in the Home while developing your clinical assessment and community nursing skills.

You’ll be someone who:

Thinks critically and assesses situations with confidence

Is comfortable as the sole clinician in a patient's home

Communicates effectively and advocates for high-quality patient care

Manages competing priorities with strong organisational skills

A background in Emergency, Critical Care or Hospital in the Home is highly regarded.

Support From Day One

Stepping into a current clinical environment should feel exciting - not overwhelming. If you're looking for a rewarding career that offers autonomy, variety and the chance to truly make a difference, we'd love to welcome you to our Hospital in the Home team.

That's why we provide:

A dedicated buddy system until you're ready to work independently

A detailed clinical manual outlining role expectations

A supportive team culture that encourages learning, collaboration and clinical excellence

Increase your take home pay with Salary packaging options

Discounted gym memberships with Fitness Passport

Paid Parental Leave and Allocated Day Off (for eligible employees)
