- Review prescriptions and patient medication histories to ensure medicines are appropriate, accurately dosed, compatible, and safe before dispensing.
- Prepare, dispense, label, and supply prescription medications in accordance with professional, legal, and pharmacy standards.
- Provide professional advice to patients on the protected and effective use of prescription and non-prescription medicines, including dosage, side effects,
and potential interactions.
- Monitor patients’ medication therapy, identify potential drug interactions or contraindications, and liaise with prescribers where required to support safe treatment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate prescription and medication records, manage the storage of medicines and vaccines, and ensure compliance with requirements for controlled and restricted drugs.
