About YPK

YPK is a community kindergarten affiliated with C&K; and is administered as an incorporated association by a committee of volunteer parents.We are a Child Safe Organisation and take seriously our role to safeguard children.

Our warm and welcoming kindy has a rich philosophy that incorporates connection with our beautiful natural environment and First Nations' perspectives, particularly the Yuggera people on whose land we play on.

We have a long history in the community of building quality connections, striving to ensure all children and families feel welcome, respected and valued. We value every child’s right to play; to feel safe; to be loved, nurtured, accepted, and included; and to speak and to be heard.

We are a two-unit Kindy with four groups of children attending across the week (a 2-day or 3-day a week group). We also run an After Kindy Care program till 530pm each day and have a Wednesday group in one room.

About the Role:

- Permanent part-time position (Monday and Tuesday kindy group) with paid non-contact time available each day.

- Queensland State School term-time position, with paid recess and annual leave.





- Salary commensurate with experience as per YPK's Enterprise Agreement 2023.

What we're looking for in the ideal applicant:

- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and colleagues

- A commitment to inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive practice

- A love for nature play, inquiry-based learning, and creative exploration

- Familiarity with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Standards("NQF" and "NQS") and Child Safe Organisation Principles.

- Ability to plan and implement a quality, educational and child-centred program which meets the needs of individual children and the group using the curriculum frameworks mentioned above.

- Strong organisation and team skills and the ability to contribute to a safe and respectful working environment.

- Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers or ability to do so.

- Current Working With Children Check (Blue Card)
