About the role

The Traffic Operations team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated engineer to join its team. The Senior Traffic Engineer is responsible for conducting investigations and technical assessments, make appropriate day-to-day decisions in relation to customer issues and make recommendations to resolve traffic and parking issues.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Tertiary qualificationsin traffic engineering, transport planning and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Extensive work experience in the fields of traffic engineering, transport planning, project management and/or road safety, preferably in Local or State Government.
- Demonstrated ability to understand regulations, policies, guidelines, technical directions and procedures.
- Able to resolve complex traffic and transport related problems, negotiate viable options with key stakeholders and with management approval in place, implement preferred solutions.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
