Enrolled Nurse (Medication Endorsed) — Aged Care Health Checks | Tue & Thu

We're a medical service that works inside aged care homes. Our GP looks after residents on site, and we're looking for an Enrolled Nurse to work alongside them two days a week. This isn't floor nursing. You won't be doing medication rounds or covering a wing. Your day is a planned list of residents to assess, you sit with them, do the checks, write it up, and hand it to the doctor. You'll be working independently to a transparent weekly schedule, with our GP in Charge for clinical direction and the facility's registered nurses on site alongside you. Every assessment goes to the doctor for review.

Key responsibilities
n
Health checks for residents (mostly over 75) — history, observations, weight, how they're managing day to day
n
Getting care plan paperwork ready for the GP to review and sign off
n
ECGs, lung function tests and leg/arm blood pressure comparisons — we'll train you on the equipment if you haven't used it
n
Checking who's due for vaccinations, and giving them with the GP there
n
Ear checks and ear cleaning, following our protocol
n
Pulling together background from resident files, hospital letters and previous reports for new admissions
n
Sitting in on case conferences with the GP, physio, podiatrist and other allied health as needed
n
About you
n
Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse, with no restrictions
n
Some experience in aged care, general practice or community nursing
n
Competence in writing clear notes and using electronic records
n
Confident working on your own during the day, and knowing when to check in
n
Working Rights in Australia and a recent National police check
n
Above-award hourly rate, paid under the Nurses Award aged care classification
n
12% superannuation
n
Five weeks annual leave a year (pro rata)
n
Leave loading (up to 4 weeks a year)
n
Uniform and laundry allowances paid (navy scrubs, badge supplied)
n
Travel between facilities paid at the award kilometre rate, and travel time is paid work
n
Long service leave accrual under the Victorian scheme
n
Training on all the equipment and procedures
