Job Description

Acetune Automotive & Tyres is looking for an experienced Head Mechanic to join our team in Hoppers Crossing.

We're after someone who is confident taking on the heavy-duty mechanical work as well as the everyday servicing and repairs. This role would suit an experienced mechanic who can work independently, diagnose difficult faults, take ownership of larger jobs and help keep the workshop running efficiently.

What you'll be doing

n

Carrying out major mechanical repairs, including timing chain replacements, engine replacements and other heavy mechanical work

n

Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults

n

Completing general servicing, logbook servicing and scheduled maintenance

n

Brake, suspension, steering and cooling system repairs

n

Testing and inspecting vehicles to accurately identify faults

n

Using diagnostic equipment and workshop software to troubleshoot complex issues

n

Overseeing larger mechanical jobs from diagnosis through to completion

n

Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail

n

Assisting and supporting other mechanics in the workshop when required

n

Helping ensure the workshop operates smoothly, safely and efficiently

n

What we're looking for

n

Strong hands-on mechanical experience

n

Proven ability to confidently complete major mechanical work, including timing chains and engine replacements

n





Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills

n

Ability to work across a wide range of vehicle makes and models

n

Someone who can work independently and take responsibility for complex jobs

n

Strong workmanship with a focus on doing the job properly the first time

n

Valuable communication and teamwork skills

n

Leadership or workshop management experience is highly regarded but not essential
