Steel-Line Garage Doors is seeking a Warehouse Group Leader to join our team in Darra, Queensland. This is a full-time position that offers a strategic opportunity to lead and manage warehouse operations, ensuring productive distribution and storage of our products. As Warehouse Group Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily warehouse activities, supervising team members, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy and productivity. This leadership position is essential to our supply chain operations and directly impacts our ability to deliver quality service to our customers.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and manage warehouse team members, providing coaching, training and performance feedback to ensure operational excellence
- Oversee receipt, storage and dispatch of products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures
- Monitor warehouse productivity and implement strategies to optimise efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, including conducting safety briefings and audits
- Manage inventory control systems and maintain accurate stock records
- Coordinate with logistics and sales teams to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements
- Identify operational improvements and implement solutions to enhance warehouse performance
- Maintain warehouse facilities, equipment and safety standards to the highest level
- Report on key performance indicators and warehouse metrics to senior management
What we're looking for
- Proven leadership experience in warehouse or distribution environments with a track record of managing teams effectively
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management,
stock control and logistics processes
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety compliance with the ability to foster a strong safety culture
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and computer applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements
- Physical capability to perform warehouse duties as required
- Current or willingness to obtain relevant certifications in forklift operation or other warehouse-specific qualifications
