Live-In Night Shift Caretaker | Recycling & Landfill Facility

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated Live-In Caretaker to provide overnight site surveillance, inspections and emergency response support at our Recycling Centre and Landfill Facility. This is a unique role suited to someone who is comfortable working independently at night and living onsite. You will be responsible for monitoring the facility outside normal operating hours, conducting site patrols, responding to incidents, and ensuring the site remains protected and secure. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will be the first point of contact for security, environmental, safety, and operational issues occurring overnight.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular site patrols and security checks.

- Monitor gates, buildings, stockpiles and operational areas.

- Investigate alarms, CCTV alerts and unusual activity.

- Respond to after-hours incidents including security breaches, fire alarms and severe weather events.

- Inspect plant, equipment and infrastructure for damage or safety concerns.





- Maintain inspection logs and incident reports.

- Liaise with emergency services when required.

About You

You will have:

- Experience in security, facilities management, maintenance, agriculture, mining, waste or a similar industry.

- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

- Robust communication and problem-solving skills.

- Current Queensland Driver's Licence.

- Basic computer skills.

- Commitment to workplace health and safety.

Desirable

- First Aid Certificate.

- Security or surveillance experience.

- Experience in landfill, recycling, quarrying or mining operations.

- Experience operating machinery or earthmoving equipment.

Important Information

- This is alive-in role, and onsite residence is a condition of employment.

- This position primarily operates overnight and requires regular night-time patrols and monitoring.

- Availability for after-hours call-outs and emergency response is essential.
