We're looking for a qualified Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join a busy and supportive maintenance team in Toowoomba.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, working across heavy vehicles, trucks, trailers, mobile plant, machinery and workshop equipment.
If you're an experienced Diesel Fitter who enjoys fault finding, repairs and keeping equipment operating reliably, we'd love to hear from you.
We're also happy to consider a strong 4th-year apprentice or qualified mechanic with a great attitude who is keen to develop their heavy diesel skills.
What You'll Be Working On
This is definitely not a same-job-every-day position.
You’ll work across a wide range of equipment, including:
- Trucks and heavy vehicles
- Excavators and loaders
- Mobile plant and machinery
- Trucks and trailers
- Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Workshop machinery
- Small plant and equipment
- And plenty more
You’ll be involved in everything from routine servicing and preventative maintenance through to fault finding, major repairs and breakdowns.
The Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
- Fault finding across diesel and mechanical systems
- Working with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Completing breakdown repairs
- Inspecting machinery and equipment
- Maintaining service and maintenance records
- Ensuring equipment is secure, reliable and ready for work
- Working as part of a supportive maintenance team
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate will be a:
- Qualified Diesel Fitter – With experience working on heavy vehicles, mobile plant, machinery or industrial equipment.
- Heavy Vehicle Mechanic – With strong mechanical and diagnostic skills and an interest in working across a variety of equipment.
- 4th-Year Apprentice – If you're coming towards the end of your apprenticeship, have a good attitude and want to build your career in heavy diesel, we can definitely hear from you.
- Experienced Mechanic – If you're a qualified mechanic with strong mechanical skills and you're keen to move into heavy diesel and mobile plant, we can provide the opportunity to learn and develop.
