The Opportunity

We're looking for motivated individuals to join our Yellow Gear Academy at our Crestmead site.

This is an exciting chance for people who are eager to build a long‑term career in operations while receiving hands‑on training and support in a practical industrial environment. Through a paid 4‑5 week training program, you'll develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to succeed in a forklift and storeperson role within the waste and resource recovery industry.

As a Storeperson and Yellow Gear Academy trainee, you'll play a key role in the day‑to‑day operation of the site while learning alongside experienced team members. You'll gain valuable hands‑on experience operating a forklift, processing materials, maintaining stock control, completing operational paperwork, and supporting resource recovery activities that contribute to a more sustainable future.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Operating a forklift to load and unload trucks and move stock around site
- Operating site equipment, including a mechanical filter press
- Decanting liquids from vessels




- Completing paperwork including manifests, stock control, and yard inspections
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment
- Following all safety procedures and company standards
- Working both independently and as part of a supportive team

What We're Looking For

We're not expecting the finished product. We're looking for people with the right attitude, a solid work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

You’ll stand out if you have:

- A current Forklift Licence (LF)
- A willingness to learn to use other site equipment, including a mechanical filter press
- The physical capability to perform manual tasks and lift up to 20kg
- A proactive attitude and ability to work autonomously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliability and a solid attendance record
- A positive, team-focused attitude
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport

As a Yellow Gear Trainee, full paid training and on‑the‑job support will be provided for all equipment and machinery required in the role, allowing you to build the skills and confidence needed to succeed.
