We're looking for a proactive, hands-on Mechanical Trade Assistant to help keep our operations running smoothly in our Swanbank workshop. If you enjoy variety, working with machinery, and being part of a collaborative team, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while working alongside experienced tradespeople.
About the Role n
In this role, you'll support our mechanics and fabricators with day-to-day maintenance activities, helping ensure our fleet and equipment remain safe, reliable, and ready for operation. This is a fast-paced workshop environment where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities n
n
- Assist qualified tradespeople with mechanical and fabrication tasks
n
- Carry out basic servicing, maintenance, and small engine repairs
n
- Support stores operations, including ordering, receiving, and picking parts
n
- Operate a range of vehicles and machinery, including manual and automatic vehicles
n
- Contribute to workshop organisation, housekeeping,
and safety compliance
n
What You'll Bring Mandatory Requirements nn
- Current and valid Driver's Licence
n
- Experience operating both manual and automatic vehicles
n
- Experience in automotive mechanical, fabrication, maintenance, or a similar hands-on trade environment
n
Highly Desirable nn
- MR Driver's Licence (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Forklift Licence (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Experience working in a stores or parts environment
n
- Small engine repair and maintenance experience
n
