We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our Drug & Alcohol Service in Port Macquarie, providing specialist care to people experiencing alcohol and other drug-related health concerns.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced, person-centred care to people with complex alcohol and other drug-related health needs across clinical and community settings.

You will:

- Undertake comprehensive advanced clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning and investigation.
- Develop and coordinate evidence-based treatment and management plans tailored to individual needs.
- Provide specialist clinical advice, consultation and leadership within the multidisciplinary team.
- Manage complex presentations and support consumers across different stages of treatment and recovery.




- Work across services to improve access, coordination and continuity of care.
- Build strong therapeutic relationships with consumers and work collaboratively with families, carers and other health professionals.
- Contribute to clinical governance, service improvement and the development of contemporary models of care.

Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to use your Nurse Practitioner expertise to make a meaningful difference for people who can experience significant barriers to accessing healthcare.

About You

You are an endorsed Nurse Practitioner who enjoys working with complexity, values clinical autonomy and wants to make a difference.

You bring advanced assessment, clinical reasoning and decision-making skills, together with experience relevant to alcohol and other drug services. You understand that effective care extends beyond a diagnosis and considers a person’s physical and mental health, social circumstances and individual goals.

You are comfortable working autonomously while also being an active part of a multidisciplinary team and building solid relationships across services.

You will bring:

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Relevant experience in alcohol and other drug assessment, treatment and management.
- Knowledge of withdrawal management and contemporary approaches to alcohol and other drug treatment.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to evidence-based, trauma-informed and person-centred care.
- A current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
