About the role
As the Workshop Controller, you'll lead and oversee the daily operation of our busy workshop - no two days look the same, and you'll thrive on keeping everything moving efficiently even when things get hectic. You'll play a crucial part in ensuring the highest standards of service and customer satisfaction, working hands-on alongside the team rather than just from behind a desk.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and overseeing daily workshop operations, including scheduling, workflow and resource allocation - often juggling multiple priorities at once
- Leading, supervising and working alongside technicians and workshop staff as part of one team, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard and on time
- Rolling up your sleeves to provide technical guidance and hands-on support,
sharing your expertise to problem-solve complex issues
- Liaising closely with our Service Advisors, communicating job progress and any additional work required
- Maintaining detailed records and reporting on workshop performance
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to enhance efficiency
- Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and quality control measures
What we're looking for
- A qualified automotive technician with experience as a Workshop Controller or similar leadership role
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of vehicle makes and models
- Highly organised, with proven experience in scheduling, workflow optimisation and performance reporting
- A natural people person with excellent communication skills, comfortable liaising with customers and leading a team
- A genuine problem solver who enjoys figuring out complex issues
- Thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment and brings a strong work ethic
- A true team player who leads by working alongside their people, not just managing from a distance
- Keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
