GEM Switchboards is growing, and we're looking for a practical, hands‑on person to join our manufacturing team in West Gosford.

If you have experience in electrical assembly, electrical fitting, manufacturing, machinery assembly, control panels, industrial equipment or similar, we'd love to hear from you.

You may already be an experienced switchboard builder — or you may have the right skills and attitude and be looking to develop your skills in switchboard manufacturing.

What you'll be doing

You'll work as part of our experienced switchboard manufacturing team, learning and developing your skills across:

- Building and assembling LV switchboards

- Installing electrical components and equipment

- Busbar installation and assembly

- Electrical wiring and termination

- Reading electrical drawings and schematics

- Measuring, drilling and preparing switchboard enclosures

- Using hand and power tools

- Working to detailed drawings and specifications

- Quality checking your work

- Working as part of a team to meet production deadlines

What we're looking for

We're interested in people with experience in any of the following areas:





- Switchboard building or electrical assembly

- Electrical fitting

- Electrical trades assistance

- Control panel assembly

- Industrial equipment assembly

- Machinery assembly

- Manufacturing or production environments

- Mechanical fitting with some electrical experience

- Industrial electrical work

- Reading electrical drawings or schematics

An electrical qualification is desirable, but it is not essential.

More important to us is that you:

- Are practical and hands‑on

- Can read and understand drawings

- Are comfortable using tools

- Have good attention to detail

- Take pride in the quality of your work

- Can work independently once trained

- Are reliable and willing to learn

- Work well as part of a team
