Embedded Expertise is partnering with a leading energy infrastructure organisation to secure an experienced Process Design Engineer for a portfolio of gas transmission and facilities projects.

This role will suit a senior engineer with a strong background in concept and development design across gas transmission systems, compressor stations, gas processing facilities, and associated infrastructure. You'll work as part of a highly capable engineering team, delivering studies and designs from early-stage concept through to detailed development.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing specialist process engineering support across a range of brownfield and greenfield projects within the gas transmission sector.

Key Responsibilities

- Process engineering activities for gas transmission, compressor station, and facility development projects.
- Develop concept, feasibility, and development designs for new and existing gas infrastructure.
- Perform process simulation and modelling using Aspen HYSYS / UniSim.
- Produce and review process engineering deliverables including:
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;)
- Heat & Material Balances
- Process Calculations
- Design Basis Documentation
- Support facility optimisation, debottlenecking, and asset improvement initiatives.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and other risk assessment workshops.
- Collaborate with mechanical, pipeline, electrical, instrumentation,



and operations teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Provide technical support through project development, execution, commissioning, and operational handover.

About You

To be successful, you will possess:

- Degree qualifications in Chemical or Process Engineering.
- Experience within the oil & gas, energy, LNG, gas transmission, or related process industries.
- Gas transmission systems
- Compressor stations
- Gas facilities
- Robust capability in Aspen HYSYS and/or UniSim process simulation software.
- Experience developing process engineering documentation and technical studies.
- Sound understanding of Australian engineering standards and safety-in-design principles.
- Previous involvement in multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through to execution.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
