BML is the owner of the Brisbane Markets and is responsible for its ongoing management, maintenance and development in support of the horticulture industry. Brisbane Markets occupies 77 hectares of land with over 40 buildings and is Queensland’s most important distribution and economic hub for the trade of fresh produce and flowers, with approximately 700 million kilograms of produce handled annually by over 160 tenants operating within the site.
Brisbane Markets Limited (BML) is seeking an experienced Administration Assistant who has a passion for delivering excellent customer service to join the team on a Maternity Contract basis.
About the Role
The Administration Assistant role is required to have good communication skills, an ability to follow procedures together with an excellent phone and interpersonal manner to provide quality customer service.
This role provides direct administration support and first-class customer service to Tenants, other Market users and colleagues. With a positive outlook, the successful applicant will be adaptable and can work both autonomously and within a team.
This role is a Full-time position offering 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday for the length of the contract. Due to the nature of the Markets, the successful candidate will be required to work between the hours of 5.30am to 2pm.
The Maternity Contract will be for 6-8 months,
with the possibility of it extending for a further period.
Providing a range of customer services at BML's Site Service Centre to assist Market users and visitors with their operational requirements.
Develop a detailed understanding of the access control database system and its report functionalities.
Conduct telephone and over the counter enquires in a professional and courteous manner

Rapidly acquire knowledge and comprehend database system platforms
Ability to follow procedures, prioritise workloads, have high attention to detail and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic setting
Friendly, motivated and approachable demeanour with outstanding communication skills (both verbally and written)
Excellent phone and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
