Production Supervisor – Timber Manufacturing

Designer Timber Products is a specialist timber merchant and manufacturer supplying architectural timber products to the building, joinery and design industries.

n

We are looking for an experienced and practical Production Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our production floor.

n

This is a hands-on leadership role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, understands manufacturing and isn't afraid to get involved on the factory floor when required.

n

The Role

n

Working closely with management, you will be responsible for coordinating our production team and ensuring work moves efficiently through the factory while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Supervise and coordinate production staff throughout the day
n
- Allocate jobs and establish daily production priorities
n
- Ensure staff understand job requirements and expectations
n
- Monitor workflow, productivity and job progress
n
- Ensure production deadlines and customer requirements are achieved
n
- Monitor workmanship and finished product quality
n
- Assist with machine setups, changeovers and troubleshooting
n
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks
n
- Monitor material usage, wastage and rework
n
- Train, support and develop production employees
n
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, breaks and general workplace performance
n
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised production environment
n
- Ensure WHS procedures and safe machine operating practices are followed
n
- Coordinate machinery maintenance and report faults or downtime
n
- Work with management to improve production efficiency,

About You

n

Ideally, you will have experience in timber manufacturing, timber machining, joinery, cabinetmaking or a similar manufacturing environment.

n

Experience with timber moulders, CNC equipment, profiling, sanding or other production machinery would be highly regarded.

n
