About us
MPE Custom Switchboards is a specialist switchboard manufacturer based in Smithfield. We build quality electrical switchboards and take pride in growing our own tradespeople — properly, not just throwing you in the deep end. Work in our workshop, not alone on a job site, with experienced electricians backing you every step.
The opportunity
We're growing, and we want 1st and 2nd year apprentices who want to learn a genuinely specialised trade. You'll work alongside experienced electricians and pick up skills most apprentices don't get exposed to until much later — or ever.
What you'll learn
- Assembling switchboards and control panels
- Installing and maintaining electrical equipment
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings
- Electrical testing and safety checks
- Setting out panels and control wiring

About you
- Currently in (or about to start) 1st or 2nd year of your electrical apprenticeship
- Solid with maths and English
- A team player who's keen to learn and shows up ready to work
- Safety-conscious with good communication skills
