The Role

The Committee for Ballarat is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and transformation. This is a rare opportunity to influence the long-term future of the Ballarat region - bringing together business, government and community leaders to deliver meaningful economic and social outcomes. As CEO, you will lead a small high-performing team to implement the organisations strategic agenda, Vision 2050. From facilitating engaging member events, to aligning with strategic partners in advocating to Government for the region's priorities, your strategic and commercial acumen, exceptional communication skills, and hands-on approach will set you up for success. You will also be supported by a highly engaged and skilled Board.

Duties

As CEO,



you will be a visible and highly influential leader responsible for:

- Implementing the organisation's strategic plan and long-term Vision 2050 agenda
- Driving advocacy and engagement with local, state and federal government to shape policy and investment in the Ballarat region
- Building and activating a strong membership network
- Championing thought leadership initiatives that position the Ballarat region for long-term prosperity
- Developing innovative commercial partnerships and diversified revenue streams
- Leading a small, high-performing team and working closely with an experienced Board

Skills & Experience

- Proven experience in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and/or government relations
- Robust commercial acumen, including partnerships, sponsorship or business development
- The ability to operate effectively in complex stakeholder environments
- High levels of emotional intelligence and relationship-building capability
- Experience leading small or resource-constrained teams to achieve significant outcomes
- A demonstrated ability to translate strategy into execution
