This is a varied role combining transport operations, customer service, warehouse duties and day-to-day depot compliance. It would suit someone with transport, logistics or warehousing experience who enjoys taking ownership of their work and isn't looking for a purely desk-based position.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinating and allocating our local fleet
- Managing customer bookings, quotes and general enquiries
- Entering, allocating and monitoring jobs through our Transport Management System
- Communicating with drivers and resolving day-to-day operational issues
- Assisting with interstate operations when required
- Checking completed jobs and charges prior to invoicing
- Preparing basic weekly truck performance reports
- Loading and unloading
- Receiving, checking, picking and putting away warehouse freight
- Maintaining an organised warehouse and depot
About you
- Has experience in transport, logistics, freight or warehousing
- Is organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Is confident dealing with customers and drivers
- Has good computer and administration skills
- Is comfortable working both in the office and warehouse
- Has a practical, problem-solving attitude
- Takes ownership and follows tasks through
- Has a solid focus on safety and compliance
- Experience with a Transport Management System, fleet compliance, NHVAS or Chain of Responsibility would be highly regarded
