Role Description

The Information Technology Field Engineer is a temporary, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC. This role involves visiting client locations to install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software, including workstations, servers, network devices, and printers. The Field Engineer will perform network surveys, support day‑to‑day operations through technical troubleshooting, and ensure equipment is correctly racked, stacked, and documented. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving technical issues,



providing user‑focused support, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver consistent, high‑quality service. The role may also involve secure handling and disposal of obsolete IT equipment and ensuring adherence to safety and security standards.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Information Technology, with practical experience in field‑based IT support or similar roles.
- Skills in Network Administration and related network configuration, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
- Experience with Printer Support and peripheral device setup, maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Ability to work on‑site at client locations, including handling, installing, and securely disposing of IT equipment.
- Solid understanding of common operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and basic server or cloud environments.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer‑focused approach and ability to work independently or in small teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) and a valid driver’s license are beneficial.
