Queensland

At Best Practice Software, our vision is communities connected with care. We are achieving this through our mission to build a culture people love, where:

- We value customers,
- We work together for success,
- We are accountable for our actions,
- We innovate for the future, and
- We celebrate diversity and inclusion.

If you share our vision and values, please consider this exciting career opportunity to join our growing team in Brisbane, Queensland.

We are looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Partner to join our human resources team on a part-time basis, working three days per week. This is not simply a role about filling vacancies. We want someone who can manage the practical, day-to-day requirements of recruitment while also helping us build a more contemporary, consistent and proactive approach to how we attract, select, retain and engage our talent.

You will be equally comfortable coordinating interviews and keeping recruitment administration moving as you are partnering with a hiring manager, challenging their thinking, developing a talent pipeline or improving the way we recruit across the business. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about getting recruitment right for our candidates, our hiring managers and our business.

More than filling vacancies

We have been developing our recruitment framework and we now want someone who can help us bring it to life. You will take ownership of embedding our recruitment framework, processes and tools across the business, helping create greater consistency while ensuring the process remains practical and human. That means working closely with our hiring managers, not simply taking a job brief and placing an advertisement.

We want you to understand what they need, help them think differently about talent, coach them through good recruitment practices and build their confidence to make great hiring decisions. Our values are also important to us. You’ll help ensure they are genuinely reflected throughout our recruitment and selection process, from how we advertise and assess candidates through to the experience people have when they interact with us.

Building our future talent pipelines

We want to become more proactive about talent. Rather than beginning every recruitment process with an empty candidate pool, you’ll help us identify the roles and capabilities we’re likely to need and build relationships with potential talent before the vacancy arises.

You will develop and maintain talent pools, identify emerging skills needs and look for creative ways to connect our business with great people.

A key part of the role will be getting outside the business and building relationships. You’ll establish and strengthen partnerships with universities, schools, industry associations and other relevant organisations, helping us develop pathways for graduates, trainees, work experience students and future employees. We want someone who can help us think longer term about where our people will come from.

What you’ll be doing

Your role will span both operational recruitment and broader talent acquisition initiatives, including:

- Managing recruitment activities from initial brief through to offer and onboarding handover.
- Coordinating advertisements, applications, interviews, candidate communication, reference checks, pre-employment requirements and recruitment administration.
- Partnering with hiring managers to understand their portfolio, roles and future workforce requirements.
- Embedding and continuously improving our recruitment framework, processes, templates and tools.
- Coaching and upskilling hiring managers in interviewing, selection, candidate experience and effective recruitment practices.
- Helping integrate our organisational values throughout attraction, assessment and selection.
- Developing proactive talent pools for critical and frequently recruited roles.
- Building relationships with universities, schools, industry associations and community partners.
- Developing opportunities for graduates, trainees, work experience and early-career talent.
- Supporting workforce and succession discussions by providing insight into external talent markets and candidate availability.
- Looking for opportunities to strengthen our employer brand and how we tell our story to prospective employees.
- Using recruitment data and insights to understand what is working, where we can improve and where our future recruitment challenges may be.

The person we’re hoping to find

We are looking for someone who understands that great talent acquisition is ultimately about relationships and trust. You will be someone who can build credibility with hiring managers and candidates, communicate openly and respectfully, and is not afraid to appropriately challenge a hiring manager when there may be a better approach.

You are organised, able to apply your initiative, work autonomously and are comfortable with the detail. You understand that candidate communication, interview scheduling, documentation and recruitment administration matter because they form part of someone’s experience of our organisation. But you can also lift your head above today’s vacancies and think about what comes next. You will be curious about our business, interested in understanding our workforce and motivated to build recruitment practices that make us better over time.

Ideally, you’ll bring experience in internal talent acquisition, recruitment or a similar role and have demonstrated experience managing end-to-end recruitment. Experience developing talent pipelines, coaching hiring managers, improving recruitment processes or building partnerships with education and industry would be highly regarded.

Why three days per week?

We recognise that talented people don’t always want or need a traditional five-day working week. This is a genuine part-time chance, working three days per week, where you’ll have meaningful ownership and the opportunity to make a visible impact. You’ll join a human resources team that wants recruitment to be more than an administrative process.

You will work alongside our HR and Organisational Development professionals and have the opportunity to influence how we attract talent, develop our leaders and build the workforce our business needs for the future. You won’t be expected to arrive with every answer. What matters is that you’re proactive, organised, commercially curious and passionate about connecting good people with the right opportunities.

If you are an experienced recruiter or Talent Acquisition professional who enjoys the hands‑on side of recruitment but also wants the opportunity to build something better, we’d love to hear from you.

Your new career starts here.
