We are currently seeking an experienced Fitter/Boilermaker to join our client's team at Melbourne Airport, working within the aviation industry.

What You'll Be Doing

n

Your day-to-day duties may include:

n

n
- Fabrication, welding and repair of metal structures and components
n
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
n
- Carrying out maintenance, repairs and modifications as required
n
- Using a range of hand tools, power tools and welding equipment
n
- Performing cutting, grinding, drilling and other fabrication tasks
n
- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and compliance
n




- Assisting with installation and maintenance activities
n
- Identifying faults and completing repairs where required
n
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas
n
- Working closely with other trades and operational teams
n
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures
n
- Following site-specific aviation, security and safety requirements
n

What We're Looking For

n

We're looking for an experienced and reliable Boilermaker who takes pride in their work and can operate effectively in a busy industrial environment.

n

We're looking for people who are:

n

- Qualified and experienced as a Boilermaker
n
- Experienced in welding and general fabrication
n
- Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
n
- Experienced with repairs and maintenance
n
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
n
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
n
- Physically fit and comfortable performing manual tasks
n
- Safety-conscious with a strong commitment to quality
n
- Reliable, punctual and committed to consistent attendance
n
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities
n
- Professional and comfortable working within an operational aviation environment
n

Candidates with experience in aviation, transport, heavy industry, manufacturing, infrastructure, maintenance or other industrial environments are encouraged to apply.

- Full Australian working rights
n




- Relevant Boilermaker trade qualification
n
- Previous experience in fabrication, welding and/or maintenance
n
- Ability to pass required aviation security and background checks
n
- Ability to meet site-specific security and access requirements
n
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the role
n
- Commitment to workplace health and safety
n
- Ability to follow strict site procedures and safety requirements
n
- Relevant licences, tickets or additional trade qualifications will be highly regarded
n

Work Environment

This role is based within the Melbourne Airport aviation environment, where safety, security and operational requirements are a key part of the workplace.

The position may involve:

- Working around operational equipment and vehicles

- Working around aircraft-support infrastructure and airport facilities

- Performing hands-on fabrication and maintenance tasks

- Working both independently and alongside other trades
