We are looking for a Laboratory Analyst LIII in AUS. Your mission will be to:

n

Role: Reporting to the Chemistry Inorganics Team Leader, the incumbent is responsible for performing routine food testing, conducting a broad range of enzymatic and instrumental tests including testing the physical properties of samples. Tasks are undertaken using manual, semi-automated, and fully automated techniques. Where testing is automated, analysts are responsible for analysing data and reporting results.

- Apply the laboratory quality management system and participate in continuous improvement processes.

- Use laboratory application and information management software effectively.

- Perform troubleshooting of analytical methods and equipment.

- Conduct a range of routine analytical tests.
n
- Organise and maintain work areas to ensure efficiency and compliance.
n

Technical

n

n
- Process, interpret, and report analytical data accurately.
n
- Define and resolve problems of limited complexity, where information may be less obvious but can be determined through direct reasoning.
n
- Conduct various tests on physical properties of samples.
n
- Conduct various enzymatic tests.
n
- Perform tests using wet chemistry techniques.
n
- Preparation of samples for instrumental tests.
n

Preparation and routine testing skills at this level may include:

n

n
- Filtration, digestion, and extraction techniques;
n
- Preparation of standard solutions;
n
- Calibration of instruments and equipment;
n
- Operation of analytical instruments.
n

n

Ability to operate and perform testing using the following instruments:

n

n
- Spectrometer (Ultraviolet/Visible (UV/VIS);
n
- Plate reader (ELISA);
n
- Auto-titrator;
n
- Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP-OES and MS);
n
- Microwave Digestion Unit.
n

Customer Focus

- Report results in a timely manner.

- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and methodologies underlying the tests conducted.

- Perform other duties as directed.

Candidate

n

n
- Tertiary qualification in Scientific discipline (essential).
n
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory role (Preferred).
n
- Understanding of NATA requirements, with experience working to GLP standards.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
n
- Quality-focused with strong attention to detail skills, and the ability to perform in fast- paced environment.
n
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet daily deadlines.
n
- Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System [LIMS].
n
