Job Description

Story Bridge Hotel is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Managers to join our management team on a full-time basis. Located in the vibrant Kangaroo Point precinct of Brisbane, this is an exciting opportunity to help lead a dynamic hospitality venue and contribute to delivering exceptional experiences for our guests and staff. As Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring our high standards of service, hospitality, and profitability are consistently maintained across all areas of the hotel.

Key responsibilities

n

Oversee daily operations of the hotel, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions

n

Manage and supervise staff scheduling, performance and development to ensure excellent customer service standards

n

Monitor and control costs, inventory and stock levels to optimise profitability

n

Ensure compliance with health, safety, licensing and hospitality industry regulations

n

Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, resolving issues to maintain guest satisfaction

n

Support the General Manager with strategic planning, budgeting and reporting

n

Maintain venue cleanliness, maintenance standards and health and safety protocols

n

Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless operations across accommodation, food and beverage, and events

n

Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members

n

Contribute to marketing initiatives and revenue-generating activities

n

What we're looking for

n

Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality, hotels, bars, restaurants or a similar fast-paced environment

n

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage and develop diverse teams

n

Excellent customer service orientation and proven ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and diplomacy

n





Solid understanding of hospitality operations, including food and beverage service, accommodation management and event coordination

n

Proficiency in hospitality management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software

n

Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control and revenue management

n

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

n

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

n

Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and Food Safety certification, or willingness to obtain these qualifications

n

Problem-solving ability and a proactive, can-do attitude

n

Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential if you have substantial practical experience
