About the Role
n
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of a range of Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and kitchen safety.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n

- Preparing, cooking and presenting Indian dishes to a consistently high standard.
n
- Planning and preparing ingredients for daily service.
n
- Ensuring food is prepared in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
n
- Monitoring food preparation and cooking processes.
n
- Maintaining appropriate portion control and minimising food wastage.
n
- Assisting with menu preparation and introducing dishes where required.
n
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering ingredients.
n
- Ensuring the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
n
- Complying with food safety, workplace health and safety requirements.
n
- Working efficiently as part of a professional kitchen team.
n
- Maintaining consistency in taste, quality and presentation during busy service periods.
n
n
Skills and Experience
n
To be successful in this position, applicants should have:
n
n
- Relevant AQF qualification in Commercial Cookery/Cookery, such as Certificate III/IV or equivalent.
n
- Strong work experience as a Chef, preferably in an Indian restaurant or similar commercial kitchen environment.
n
- Strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, spices and preparation methods.
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant workplace.
n
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
n
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
n
- A strong commitment to food quality and customer satisfaction.
n

Salary and Benefits
n
The position offers a salary of $79,500 per annum + superannuation, commensurate with the requirements of the position and the successful applicant's skills and experience.
