Surfside Primary School (Ocean Grove) is a medium to large sized school with a projected enrolment of 540 students for 2027. Our school has been in operation since 1993. We are located 2km north/east of the central business district of the seaside resort of Ocean Grove, 28 kilometres from the provincial city of Geelong, on Victoria¿s Bellarine Peninsula.

Selection Criteria

SC1Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs.

SC2Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.

SC3Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning. Demonstrated experience in using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.

SC4Drawing on your understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and best practice, describe how you would use multiple sources of evidence, including academic, behavioural, social & emotional, attendance and family engagement data, to identify a learner¿s needs, plan and coordinate tiered supports, and monitor their impact.

SC5Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining team-oriented relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.

SC6Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Demonstrated experience in reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.
