Peppercorn Food Company Pty Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Full-Time Food Technologist to join our food manufacturing team. The successful candidate will undertake food testing, product and process development, quality control and technical activities to ensure our products meet required quality, safety and manufacturing standards.

Main Responsibilities

Conduct experiments, laboratory testing and technical analysis of raw materials, ingredients, work-in-progress and finished food products;

Test and evaluate food products for quality characteristics including flavour, colour, taste, texture, composition and nutritional requirements;

Research and analyse ingredients, food products and manufacturing processes to develop and improve products, techniques and production processes;

Apply research, testing and experimental findings to improve product quality, consistency, shelf life and manufacturing efficiency;

Develop and improve methods for the processing, preservation, packaging, storage and handling of food products;

Develop, review and implement quality control procedures,



food safety standards and technical specifications for food manufacturing;

Conduct product and process trials and evaluate results under different production conditions before implementation;

Investigate product quality issues and production deviations through technical testing, root cause analysis and corrective actions;

Assess raw materials and ingredients for suitability, quality and compliance with product and manufacturing specifications; and

Work closely with production and quality teams to implement technical improvements and ensure consistent food quality and safety.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a closely related field;

At least two years of relevant professional experience in food technology or food manufacturing;

Knowledge and practical experience in food testing, product and process development, food safety and quality control;

Understanding of food processing, preservation, packaging and storage requirements;

Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills; and

Positive communication and teamwork skills
